The Junior room made the most of the beautiful day yesterday, they walked to Omey and did their PE there and they also studied the signs of spring on their way there. They spotted frogspawn, buds appearing, calves, daffodils and crocuses. They also kept an eye out for any litter on the way too. #greenschool
Yesterday we had a wonderful visit with the talented photographer Doug Allan. Dough is a renowned wildlife photographer who has worked on projects such as The Blue Planet. Dough kindly volunteered to come to visit our school and spoke to each classroom about his travels to the Arctic and Antarctic. This talk also links in well with our Marine Green Schools Theme that we have been busy working on. Dough kindly presented us with his beautiful book and gave us some posters of his images. We are very grateful to Doug for delivering such an interesting talk.
Thank you to all who supported our Parents Association Valentines fundraising raffle. Congratulations to Bobby and Clodagh who won the childrens hampers and congratulations to Reece O’ Toole who won the main hamper. This was presented to Freddy on his behalf.
Well done to our two teams that participated in The Credit Union Quiz in Clifden on Saturday. They had a great day.
Last Friday, the senior room gathered their own rushes at home and brought them in to make their St. Brigids Day crosses. They turned out great!
